Tumbbad Movie Review
We're always told "laalach buri bala hain" in Hindi. But do you we really regard this statement? Tumbbad, a movie about how greed eats your mind, your want to live and your happiness, answers that question.
I finally got the chance to watch Tumbbad on Amazon Prime, I had it on hold for so long. But that maintained my astonishment airtight. This movie directed by Rahi Anil Barve and Anand Gandhi would give you everything you need, horror, thrill, light comedy, drama. You need to watch it.
Tumbbad is set in Maharashtra during the Independence era. And has brief Marathi being spoken between characters, but that doesn't stop us from getting what is being told in the movie. Sohum Shah, the lead, plays Vinayak Rao, the character who is determined to base his life on greed and freeloading. In his childhood, he experiences certain incidents that make him want the power of money more than ever. Automatically, when he grows up, this want and need of power stays.
Tumbbad is a story based on a devil deity who was greedy enough to choose riches but couldn't snatch food/grains when he had the chance and hot banished from the Godly haven of his home.
The camera angles, the cinematography, the score of this movie matches with everything that is being showcased right from the start of the rolling of the picture. Due to which Tumbbad has got various awards and some are even international awards.
I score Tumbbad a solid 4.8/5.
