Walnut Optimism

How would you feel if you find your child degrading herself/himself for the sake of getting accepted in this society or in a smaller setting like a classroom environment or a university environment?
No, think about it. Take a minute and think about it.

I've seen so many people, be it friends or acquaintances or even family members, giving up their dignity to satisfy or belong to the "club of coolness" by making fun of themselves or talking about themselves in a degrading way. YOUR PARENTS DID NOT CREATE YOU TO SEE YOU DO THAT.

Here's a little story, I had a friend in my 11th standard, who shall not be named (a small Harry Potter reference hehe). He has this ideology that people won't make fun of you, if you make fun of yourself first, and that would also make people feel you're cool. So, he used to go around and judge a situation and when he thought he's about to get "roasted" or be made fun of, he used to start making jokes on himself, practically, down himself. I call this THE most nonsensical thing ever to get uttered by someone's mouth.

It was later in my college life, I got the knowledge of how dangerous this ideology really was for my friend and still is for the youth.

Please, don't be so harsh on yourself just to please or make a mark on a handful of people. They're people, they're temporary, your mental health and thoughts are permanent.
With this thought, I have started filtering out individuals who down themselves and be pessimistic.
I don't want this walnut optimism, you shouldn't, too.
